Chardham Yatra also known as the four abodes of God, the spiritual retreat of Dev Bhoomi, Each year thousands of pilgrims initiates their journey to Uttarakhand to pay their homage to char dhams or temple based in the heavenly abode of North India. Each year after the winter the holi temple of Yamunotri and Gangotri opens on the day of Akshaya Tritiya which falls in the month of April or May as per the Hindu calendar. After six months the Yamunotri and Kedarnath temple close on Yama Dwitiya or Bhai Dooj on the other hand the Gangotri Dham closes Diwali, and the Badrinath temple is shut down on the day of Vijayadashami.
